Enhancing Public Policy Research and Leadership Skills at KIPPRA
As a Young professional at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), I gained extensive experience in public policy research and analysis, leadership and collaboration. Serving as the Vice president of the young professionals’ cohort 2023/24, I gained strong leadership skills by guiding teams’ initiatives, facilitating discussions and ensuring that our projects aligned with the institution’s goals. This role enabled me to lead with vision, manage responsibilities effectively and foster a culture of teamwork.
I also had the opportunity to co-author a discussion paper on the role of cryptocurrency in facilitating access to financial services in Kenya, exploring how decentralized finance can enhance financial inclusion. This experience further strengthened my ability to contribute to policy discussions on emerging technologies
Further, collaborating with my fellow YPs and staff at KIPPRA helped me to build strong professional networks and deepen my understanding of Kenya’s policy landscape. The exchange of ideas and expertise enhanced my analytical skills and solidified my commitment to evidence-based policy making.
